Ceramic Window Tint.... Help

I live in northern New Jersey and I am trying to find a good place to get my windows tinted. I want ceramic tints due to recent threads stating they do not cause radio interference. Most of the installers around here look at me like I'm crazy when I asked, what kind of tint they use. They could never give me an answer. They said we use regular tint. Regular, I'm assuming they mean dyed. I need someone to install my tints who actually knows what they're using. Someone, Help me!!

We use regular tint

There has been much discussion about this topic in other posts. Some owners of metallic tint have not had problems and others have, especially with AM radio. There just isn't much out there regarding ceramic tint so that's why you received such lame answers.

FormulaOne Performance Auto. Film has a great ceramic film, known as the Pinnacle Series, with a great warranty. It has worked very well for heat rejection/UV protection as well as the electronic stuff.

Check out their website for more information. There are no certified installers of FormulaOne in NJ but there are some dealers in your surrounding states. Click on 'locate a dealer' to see your options. Huper Optik's ceramic is much more expensive and has a green cast to it.

Good luck and pm me if you want to know what I paid.

Formula One

I have the Formula One Ceramic Tint installed. I really like it, but think it's a little bit lighter than metallic tint. I went street legal as I don't want to get any silly tickets, but it's definitely a lighter shade than the metallic I had installed on my old 300M.

Saint-

I just got back from tint shop looking at SunTek Carbon at $250 vs Huper Optik Ceramic at $450, installed and warrantied for term of car ownership. Clearly the Huper specs better, both seem to have about the same coloration (definitely not greenish) but there was no car to show with the Huper as they rarely do them. They just finaished a Black Charger with the Carbon and it looked pretty nice. The shop guys said however that the Huper looks much much better, thought they couldn't quite describe what it was-they said it was a "Euro" look, which I took to be more reflective/silvery than the flat Limo look. Tough to install-the owner was going to do my car if I do Huper.

My car is Bright Silver-they thought that was the ideal color for the Huper.

Do you have any pics or can you describe how it is visually when compared to more typical tints? Anyone else have pics of Huper Optik 40 on Bright Silver?

I just contacted my local Formula One dealer. They offer the ceramic tint for $369. I contacted the local auto chain and they said they would give me traditional tint for about $169. Both come with warranties, is the difference in the radio that noticeable? Or is it just with the AM?

I've had the Formula One ceramic tint ("Pinnacle") on mine for about 4 months; so far, I couldn't be happier. No radio problems, and it seems to have really helped with the heat in the Texas sun this summer...
