Smile Hardwire Installation of Valentine 1?

Just wondering if anyone has installed the Valentine 1 Radar Detector with a hardwired power connection and where they picked up power with the ignition on?

Mine is scheduled to be installed on Thursday afternoon.

I hardwired my Escort 8500 into the ashtray lighter. Ran it down the headliner, A pillar and into the dash from underneat the pedals. I'll take some pix when I get a chance. Its the slickest install possible...

I didnt find any decent ground locations in the overhead console...

I just "borrowed" power from the mirror. Just don't use the tap that gets shut off when you are in reverse. :-)

Jim, I did mine both on the left kick panel and splicing the pink cable visible in front. This one is active when the ignition is on. Also I'm using the concealed display.

I will try to take photos on the weekend and post them.

We installed ours over the weekend, put the main receiver to the right of the rear view mirror and installed the remote just in front of the tach. Easy to see and reset when a signal sets it off.

Picked up power from the fuse panel under the dash.

Will try to send photos over the holiday.

I was thinking about doing this with on Valentine but I always mount it at the bottom of the windsheild. That makes it harder to route the wiring.
