Trunk tie down on 300C?

Does anyone have a suggestion on how to tie down the trunk with a bungie cord on the "C". Let say you have something long, like a ladder that requires the trunk lid to be unlatched. On the "C" the trunk lid is completely covered in a padding material and I don't see anywhere to attach the bungie cord.
Miles, you usually have excellent ideas on isssues like this.

Just in case you weren't aware; the rear seats do fold down, opening to the trunk to give more room.

The padding comes off with a half dozen plastic pop rivets if you really want to put a ladder or such in the 300. I kept the old Pontiac to use for just such occaisions.

A ladder!!! My C would cringe. That's why i have a grand caravan and a dakota pick up.

I'd never put a ladder in the trunk . . . a body - maybe.........

If you have a bungie with a hook on each end, you can put one end into the lock body (there's a hole or two) and the other end hooked onto the botton of the rear fascia cover. Be careful, though, that you aren't stretching the cord tightly that it could put a hole in the cover. I did similar things that way on my LHS. It works fine.

Have your wife lay in the trunk and hold the trunk lid down

Be careful, bungee cords are an excellent tool for putting your eye out if they unhook.
