Sequence sq-2 wheels

Maybe one of the reasons that I've seen so many of the sequence wheels on this forum for sale is the fact that their is a problem with the design of the wheel. The standard 14x 1.5 lug does not fit properly. The lugs are either too short to get the proper torque setting or they are too long and the center cap won't fit properly. I have also yet to find anyone who has locks that work for this wheel. i have been to numerous wheel shops i my area and they are at a loss. I have asked members of this forum to help me and they have not given me the name of the lug manufacturer or the shop where they got the PROPER lugs and locks from. I have talked to Ryan from Sequence and he tells me that " he doesn't have locks on his wheels". I am getting really steamed about this issue and I will be seeking legal remedies soon if I don't get some answers. I dealt with Ryan oin good faith and I know some of his GUYS are members of this forum. FYI for anyone that purchases wheels from Sequence ask them about the lugs and LOCKS. I was under the assumption ( yes I knwo what thaty means ! ) that the lugs that came with the car would work fine and that i would just habve to buy some good locks! No such luck..the stock lugs are too long and don't fit the concave area of the rim properly. Anyway I will keep anyone interested posted on this issue.

I said that there was a problem a long time ago. Why would anyone sell their brand new wheels at a huge loss immediatley after purchasing them. There were not one or two sets for sale but several all at the same time. I too spoke to a salesman from Sequence and was told they would sell direct. I asked if they used any mail order co's so I could save tax out of state and was told they could sell me the wheels themselves. The rep went so far as to call me bafck days later with a lower price. This whole deal smells fishy.

Thank you for posting this and it would be nice if the admin would make this a "sticky" so others won't run into this problem.

I have also looked into buying the SQ rims and I was told by a rep the rims did not have any problems. I did find it odd that the rep e-mailed me a few time offering to sell the rims cheaper and sell them direct to me. If its a bolt issue then its a safety issue and SQ should take back the rims and stop selling them or they should have bolts that will fit. I had similar problems with rims I purchased for my other car last year. The thread on the bolt was special so there was no way to find the exact match. The company kept sending me shorter bolts and telling me the rims would be fine. I finally ended up returning the rims but its almost impossible to find the exact bolt with the exact threading. I hope everything works out for you and keep us posted.

Just out of curiousity, has anyone tried the Chrysler locking lugs for the C that's designed to fit under the OEM cap on the 18"s?

There is nothing wrong with the wheels that I bought (I am the one selling them for $2000) The reason I am selling is because 22" wheels are going to get stolen from my car where I live. As a side note, after putting the 22" wheels on I thought it looked silly. I think the car looks much better with 20" wheels, but that is my own personal opinion. I welcome anyone that wants to check them out to come to my house and I have a jack, we can put the wheels on the car and drive around on them. I didn't have any problems at all with my dealings, my problem is that I am too lazy to put them on eBay and my girlfriend is yelling at me because she wants her side of the garage back. Normally I wouldn't care about posts like this, but you are basically telling people that I am trying to cheat them. If there was anything wrong with the wheels then I would send them back to Sequence, unfortunately there is nothing wrong with them so I have no grounds to send them back. It was just a silly decision on my part to jump on the 22" band wagon so to speak. I should have seen a car in person before I bought them. My loss, your gain, BUT DO NOT ASSUME THAT I AM TRYING TO CHEAT ANYONE OR SELL DEFECTIVE WHEELS.

Thanks
-Chris

I never said you were trying to cheat anyone. I just pointed out all of the recent sequence wheels for sale on this forum. I have only seen that brand for sale on a car that has only been out for a few months on this forum. I have not been able to find a Dlr/Internet store that sells them. You said you only put 10 miles on them. There may be a problem w-them and you just don't know it. I am not at atacking you of your character. I was very interested in your wheels I even P.M.ed you when you first posted them.

Chris there is nothing wrong with people informing others that these wheels cannot be locked. I don't think anyone is claiming you are trying to cheat anyone, but the fact that you think they will be stolen states that you are aware that they cannot be locked perhaps.

Is that the reason you are going to a 20" instead? The wheels locks work?

You kind of validated everyones thoughts on the wheel lock situation with the 22"s.

My sentiments exactly Rogue. I am so glad that I istarted this thread. I wanted to call attention to my issue with the wheels. Now I see that it really is a much larger issue. I know that there are guys from Sequence that monitor this forum. They should be man enough to come on and defend their rims and give some answers concerning the lugs/locks. This thread should be made a sticky because anyone who is thinking about buying these rims needs to know!As an aside I really think that a redesigned center cap could alleviate the problem.

You think the problem could be that the center cap dips in? Would making a flush center cap solve the problem?
