Exclamation Chrysler 300 Aftermarket HID FLICKER Problem

Hello Members,
I am new to this Forum. I have a 2007 Chrysler 300. I have a set of aftermarket plug and play HID kit. I was wondering if anyone has a clear explanation of really how to add HID with out the flicker. What ends up happening is, the HIDs work fine when the car is off, but when the car is running, the light begin to flicker after the idle drops. I know this is a problem and I have tried to do my own research on this problem. There are some articles in this forum that touches this topic but I don’t feel like I really know what’s going on. All I was wondering is if anyone could help. Some one has to know about a "HOW TO GUIDE" or something. Please if anyone knows we need to figure this out and make it available for others to know about.

Thanks For all you help!

Add a relay that should stop the flickering. I know greedyK knows more about this hopefully he will chime in!

I had the same issue, and found out from Intense HID, that a lot of these aftermarket kits are from china and they don't always work in our GREAT AMERICAN CARS. Have you tried plugging them in with the polarity reversed? I had a problem with my fogs and called Intense, they told me this and they worked.

Just had the problem with some aftermarket HIDs. Relays generally will not fix the problem by themselves. The kit must be rated to function at 8 volts minimum which some kits are designed to do while others are strictly 12 volts (like mine and most probably yours). You'll need to get one of those low voltage kits or do what I did and go back to the installer and have them connect the headlights to your side marker light or parking light (the yellow light that comes on before you turn on your headlights). You'll lose the ability to have the parking lights on by themselves but who ever drives with just their parking lights?

I have a Kaixen kit but there's a couple of vendors here who sell HID kits that some say work fine, but others have continued to have problems like ours. I kept the kit and had the extra wiring done. Works perfectly and looks absolutely beautiful.

Props to GreedyK for the help with this.

-Joe

300lovr,
Now when you say reverse the polarity what does this mean. Its just a brand new car, and I feel like if I reverse something that this may be a bad decision. Let me know what you think. Also when I get this figured out I will defiantly Get a write-up Put together on this topic with pictures and such.
Thanks,
Justin-

You take the plugs and instead of plugging them in positive to positive, negative to negative, you reverse it, so that the positive is plugged in the negative and the negative is plugged in the positive. Now like Wally, I too had to do some additional wiring for my low beams to get them to stay on, but my fogs, I just reversed the plug. Like wally said, it depends on the manufacturer of the kit. I don't think there's just one simple way, you going to have to spend some time with it..
