Height of car with 20s

Does the height of the car increase when going with 20in wheels. The reason I ask is because I checked out another 300 with 20s and it was about 1-1/2 inch higher than mine. The chick had 275 / 40 / 20. It looked nice except for the added height.

That would depend on what tires you are running. If the overall outer diameter of the tire is the same as, or very close to stock, it will not change the height at all. At that point it is a visual issue, not actual height change.

Since some of the tires I looked up for that 20 set you described are pretty close (.5" or so) to the stock 28" tire, I would say it was more the visual effect than anything.

I know with my 20 and the 245/45/20 the car is lower. It doesn't look so great if your looking for little or no wheel gaps. I planing on lowering the car about an inch. Go out and measuer your stock wheels if you measuer the rocker panel behind the front wheels and infront of the rear that woudl tell us the normal hights. I got 6 in front and 6 3/4 in back. Im not a expert but i would say that how you could tell if it lower or higher.

Heres the proof. Mine are lower then stock. Stock are 28.6 in diamiter. 225/60/18. My tires are 245/40/20 diamiter 27.7.

Bud, check your post before my link and your post after...which are you running?? 245/45's or 245/40's? Kinda makes a diff!

I had my car parked right next to her. See even told me that height increased. I don't remember what rims they were but the tires were Hankook.

275-40-20 o.d. 729mm

225-60-18 o.d. 727mm

245-40-20 o.d. 707mm

the 275 are closer to the stock 18's
