Clear side marker lights

I finally got my side marker lights from stealth auto yesterday and did the install. Ok .....FIRST ILL SAY they are great! I love them AFTER the install.

Now Ill explain...... The install was a complete PAIN IN THE A$$!
Maybe its easier to take off the complete front fascia but i wasnt about to tear into my car like that. So i guess i did it the hard way by going through the wheel wells and Ill tell you that sucked! The right hand side went fairly OK but the drivers side SUCKED! there is NO room in there to get the retainer nut off and then back on the post. Those that have done this "mod" know what post im talking about. Those people that want to do this mod, i suggest go get it done by a dealer or body shop. Ive read on here how easy it was to install, well im telling you it wasnt "easy" by no means. Also the plastic rivets that hold the inner fenders attached are complete crap. they suck! Lastly, has anybody that has done this mod...are your "steath" bulbs that go into the new clear housing Not very bright? Mine are very dim and wondering if this is normal?

BTW, this post is JMHO..

Go AF!
If I do get the clears, I might go with LEDs.

It's a bit easier to go from "under" the front facia vs. the wheel wells. However, on the driver's side you must remove the intake "silencer" to give you room similar to the passenger side. Still, it would be easier if the OEM post/nut position was the rear side vs. the front side. That has nothing to do with the Stealth Auto piece. It's the way the original is.

I have not noticed any problem with marker brightness, but I can't say that I paid that much attention either. I did have a bulb fail (replaced under the life-time warranty), so MAYBE you have a couple "suspect" bulbs?

Just another opinion.

Congratulations on our install, sorry it turned out to be a PIA. If the bulbs are defective I know they’re good about replacements. Perhaps they’re not good. Post some pics when you get a chance.

I actually took the headlight assembly out and it was a quick 15 minute install. Sorry, the picture is kind of bad...

does the headlight assembly come out easy? I have the touring 300 and I have to do the install of my clear markers still...and didn't I read somewhere that you aren't suppose to touch the bulbs with your fingers?

It's a piece of cake. A lot of the C guys will tell you you'll need to take the front fascia off, but if you don't have the chrome on top of your bumpers, it no problem then. Here's what I did:

When you have your hood popped open, you can get to the top two bolts, no problem.

Then there's a three bolt on the bottom of the assembly, more in the middle of the light. I took a end of an hammer, wrapped it one time with a terry cloth towel, pushed down on top of the bumper and shoved the wrapped handle in between the bumper and the bottom of the light. Wrapping it, will prevent from scratching the top of your bumper. Take a 1/4" drive rachet with the 6" extension and you will be able to loosen the bottom bolt. If the bolt falls, don't worry, once you take the light out, you will be able to grab it. Here's a hint, to put the bottom bolt back on, I took a piece of electrical tape, put on the top of the bolt, shoved the bolt into the socket, so the bolt doesn't fall while trying to put it in the hole. I do this all the time now when I needed to work on my fogs and lights bulbs.

Are you any where near McKeesport?
