Although I agree with your point, there is another reason to DIY.
A LOT of my projects would be more easily done by paying another. However, I try to do as much work on my car as possible to "get to know" my car.

If you don't "do" you don't learn.

It makes me understand my car better and makes me a better designer (industrial machinery).

I really debated with myself over this before installing the coilovers on my C (whatapain!). I'm glad I did it, but I wouldn't next time (I learned enough the first take )...

And as most will attest, it also involves ripping the screws out and tearing the fascia where they mount. I'd rather spend the extra time (and less money) to do it right...

Finding this post a month ago, was the reason I joined this site and installed my grill. Something about doing it yourself, gives you such a feeling of accomplishment. I can't even begin to tell you how many people act shocked when I tell them I installed the grill.

Maybe they perceive me as a klutz, I don't know.

I sent Y2K5SRT a PM of thanks, but there's no harm in repeating myself publicly. This post, the quality of info and pictures, made installation a breeze, and gave me the confidence to do it.

Thanks again, you're AWESOME.

Thanks so much for spending the time to take all the pics, and the effort to do the photoshop work with the arrows & details.
This desrves a "sticky" in the HOW TO section.

I haven't done the grill yet & I will definitely be using this excellent write-up as a guide when I do.

Thanks again!
I agree! Thanks a ton! I used your write-up and it only took me about an hour to get my grille on!
