Can somebody help me please?

ok guys and gals heres the deal. i just ordered a set of 22's yesterday for my 300. Theyre supposed to be on my door by next friday. Well heres the question. My car is equipped with the horsepower monster of the 2.7 v6. I remember when i put 20s on my first truck, the gas mileage went down the drain. And I was wondering if anyone had noticed a significant drop in mpg after adding larger wheels. Not that im going to take them back or anything, just wondering what to expect. thanks.. and for those wondering, yes. i bought spinners. Not everyones cup of tea, but ive wanted a set forever so i bought some.

Here is a thread that various members mention their mileage with 22’s….not just the ones who have the 5.7 either. Hope this helps with your question.

BTW….you enjoy those spinners…it’s your car after all and if that’s something you’ve been wanting for a long time then go for it. Life’s too short to worry about what other’s think about our wheels. Post some pics and enjoy! Life is good!

Gas Mileage 5.7L

ha.. thanks. and your right, life is too short to worry bout what everybody else thinks.. theyre not making the payments. Plus, you gotta remember im the young guy on here so keep in mind those college girls love nice luxury cars with obnoxious wheels.. and boy do i love those college girls.haha.. and since my last girlfriend just lost her mind, i need to summon the full female attraction powers my car posseses.

anyways.. but from what i could tell it didnt really hurt the 5.7 all that bad. im not sure what exact mileage im getting now, but its pretty good. and i travel a good bit on the weekends to the local college towns (bout 75 miles away) to uh.. study. so im hoping it isnt gonna just kill my mileage completely. i have also ordered drilled and slotted rotors cause i know my brakes are gonna reach a early demise once i put the big boy shoes on her.

nice.. mine wont be visible due to the spinner (its pretty big, but thats the way i wanted it cause im buying weights so it looks like im skating down the road. basically im ghetto fabbing dub esinems.. ha) but have you noticed better performance, or is it just hog wash and only visually pleasing?

Well for me with my Rims that your able to see the Rotors, thought it was a must, also I painted the Calibers. As far as better performance, not really but I don't bash them that much, I Drag Race at the track often and hard braking is not what I do. For you upgrading your Rotors AND Calibers would be a good thing because with those heavy Rims and not much airflow to the brakes you have to be careful for over heating the brakes. One possible problem with those Rims are the weight, remember thats Unladen weight which will slow you down considerably.

yeah.. i already bought the carbon ceramic pads like i used to have on my crotch rocket. they worked ok on it so i figure theyll do the trick. and im gonna enjoy the hell outta the wheels. ill prolly burn a tank of gas in empty parking lots flooring it, slamming on the brakes, then getting out real quick to watch em spin.. haha. that or ill just drive by the big post office in town with all the big windows and keep driving by to see the reflection.. dont lie! youve all done it!! haha
