Thoughts on these painted caliper covers??

anybody seen these universal caliper covers?

Quote from ebay auction:
"You are bidding on a PAIR of CUSTOM PATENTED CAL-COVERS product. These are universal part for every vehicle. They are made of 6061 Aluminum and are attached to your factory brake caliper using 3M's patented High Heat Bonding Tape made exclusively for the Cal-Covers product. These are a great custom touch to the nasty look of your factory calipers, and finally NO more painting. They install in about an hour and come in color options that will fit your style. A made in the USA part. Again you are bidding on a pair. Great part for the Custom wheel owner or the OE guy, finish a clean look and reduce brake dust. Please include the following: Year, Make, Model, and Color. Color: Red, Blue, Orange, White, Black, Yellow and Silver. These are in stock and ready to ship, be a part of the newest restyling product available! See online at cal-covers.com for more info. We are a stocking Retailer."

opinions please??

I think they look pretty sick, I just wouldn't want the tape to fail and have them come off at high speed, and jump up and damage the car.

I was very insterested when I first saw them a few month ago. I emailed the seller and asked whether they had to come off when changing brake pads, if there was any chance of warping the rotors due to increased heat, and if they could cause any possible issues with warranty. Never heard anything back, so I took that as a sign there might be issues...

those wouldnt work on my car, because my rims have accutually been notched out in the back to make room for the rear calipers. This is the only way that Asanti can get a true 5 inch lip on the rear for the 300. I only have about 1/4 of an inch of space between the caliper and the rim.
