Radio reception issues after tint?

I am having an issue with the radio reception after I got my tint.
I believe before the tint, they said it was metallic tint so I think that is why I am having interference.

Is there any solution to eliminate my fuzzy reception without removing the metallic tint??

Any suggestions and comments will be appreciated.

Thanks

Gosh Chase, I wish you would have read some of the prior threads about window tints before having this done. Ceramic tint is the only one on the market that will not cause interference with radio reception or the Nav. system.

Some members have been lucky to not get the intereference with metallic tint, but most likely, they don't listen to AM/FM radio. I know you don't want to hear this but removing your tint will probably be the best solution unless you just avoid using the radio. If you are interested in Ceramic tint, then check out FormulaOne on the website. The 'Pinnacle Series' is their ceramic tint.

Good luck with whatever you choose to do.

Thanks for the advice Bruno!

I assume the TSB for the Poor Radio Reception will probably not help me?

I didn't think Tint would be any issues but from now on I guess everything I am going to do I better read up on it. LOL

If you didn't have poor reception before the tint, then you definitely know it's the tint if you now have issues.

I can honestly tell you that the "Search" feature at the top of the page can be one of your best friends when it comes to researching information.

Let us know what you decide to do. I know I wouldn't want to just write off the money I spent on tint.

Wishing you the best,
bruno

I purchased my car private sale and the previous owner had put tint on. I sure its metallic since I have zero AM reception (it's all static). FM does work but it's certainly not a clean crisp sound.

I don't really mind since I'm an XM Satellite Radio subscriber, I rarely ever listen to terrestrial radio any more.

You can always try an fm booster, you can make your own or buy one, but it's probably not going to help a whole lot because of the tint.

So, is it important to get ceramic the whole way around, or could I just get ceramic on the back windshield and metallic on the sides? Anyone know?

I've asked that question before and never gotten a good answer
My reasoning for asking was because I didn't think the ceramic came in dark enough tint but it turns out the FormulaOne Pinnacle series comes in 18% tint. However, good luck getting a legit, reputable tint shop to put anything on that is not legal in your state!!! And even more good luck to you finding a non-legit, non-reputable shop selling FormulaOne tint - it ain't going to happen! hehe

Well, I wasn't asking so I could get it darker on the sides, I was asking because I assumed it would be cheaper to get the sides done in metallic and only the back window done in ceramic. I'm definitely going with a Formula One shop.
