Help with tinting headlights?

Well I had my headlights tinted a while back but it stole so much of my light output. Plus the light turned into ugle dark brown yellow.
I took them off but I want them back on.
The old tint I bought from ebay made for headlights, but this time I bought tint for the windows. I placed it on and it gave it a light blue tint that I kind of like better than the stock yellow halogen bulbs.

I tried applying it the first time but there were big bubbles around the edges and it looked like crap.
I used windex as the liquid so maybe thats why.
I went and bought the tint spray made to use when tinting but havent dont it yet.
If I have time I will be doing it today.

Any tips on how to do this?
You think I should tint it with my lights on so the heat can dry the tints quicker?
