Got sick of front plate

I really hated looking around at all the nice, clean & beautiful 300's we have in the DFWLX Club - and then looking at the plain Jane commuter front on mine. So, I decided to do something about it. I was at Autozone anyway getting touch up paint for a rock chip, and an idea hit me . Why not make my own color matched bumper hole fillers? Granted, this is not some super-hot mod, but for a budget it makes a difference...

Here is the front before:

Now, taking off the bracket is easy - but look at what the dealer did to my bumper!

Now I am starting to think maybe I should put this back on... But I had already done the hard part so I went ahead with it.

This is what I got at Autozone:

To make these: (sorry, fat hand got in way of good picture)

And, a few careful reams with a pocket knife later, my front end now looks much better:

Granted, the color match is not 100% spot on, but thats because I think I used too much clearcoat - not bad for a first try though.

Nice job, looks much better.

You might want to think about getting the Stealth Auto silver tipped front turn signal bulbs (get rid of the orange glow in your head light, when the lights are not on.

Also the Stealth Auto clear corner marker lens with there 194 bulbs as well.

Thanks everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dubster, neither can we, but I am hoping the cops around here have better things to do...

These are actually super easy to make. I would be happy to look into making some more of them for yall. The hardest part is sanding, painting, sanding, painting etc.

Nice work. I wish I could drive around with no front plate.

Well, see thats the thing - technically in Texas it's illegal. Not to say that I have not seen my fair share of people without them, but it's like - say aftermarket HID kits, but more noticable. If a cop wants to be a ***** he can give you a ticket for it. Something like $175 or so.

Anyone in Texas have problems with this? Just wondering...
