Question about SRT8 window strips

I removed the side door molding from my car, but now I still have the old lady chrome weather stripping around all the windows to contend with.
My question is, what are you guys doing to clean this area up?
Are you having the chrome painted, buying new weather strips, or does the chrome peel off of the molding?

from what i understand, the chrome trim comes off the tops of the windows, its just stuck on (its apparently this way on the base and touring models). but the trim under the window stays on, because there are holes that it leaves if you take it off. anyone i have seen on here that removed the trim left the lower chrome. i assumed it was because it left holes when removed. but many people have got it painted black or body color.

there is also a product by TrimBrite called Blackout Tape that i used on my maxima. it was the same color as my tint, and was like electrical tape, just not glossy. it covered the chrome trim easily. you could try that, but its not thick enough to cover the bottom chrome at the bottom, youd need 2 strips.

I could be wrong, but I think some ppl use the window trim from the Magnum (non-chrome) and it is a perfect fit. Talk to UltimateCarMan45 or Extreme-SRT8 (and D's300C as seen below) as I think both of them did the Magnum trim swap.

G'luck. Oh, and where are you pics of demolding?!?!

I swapped out the bottom trim on my SRT8 with the black trim from the Magnum SXT,

he meant the whole window trim i think, but the lower was what i questioned being removed without holes.

i like the idea of switching it out with the magnums, i never knew that would work. with tinted windows that would look great.

Thanx for the info guys.
I did find out the lower trim needs to be switched out with the Magnum, as some of you PM'd me, and mentioned in here.
As far as the thin chrome around the sides and top of the windows, I believe you peel it off the existing trim/weather strip molding. Not sure if that is right or not though.
I did think about lightly sanding and painting the fat lower chrome trim piece below the bottom of the window, but not sure if I have the patience to do it or not.
