Angry Driver's side halos DEAD! D**n it!

So two weeks after installing my halo headlights from AAC and riding around with them having people turning their heads but not using them a whole lot during that time, I met up with some friends last night thinking how badazz my ride looks at night with the halos on. I park the car and check all my lights as I do periodically and WTF! My driver's side halo rings are out! BOTH RINGS! Damn it! Now my car looks retarded at night with one side on. Anyway, contacted AAC and they said the inverter probably went out and they would send new aluminum water-proof ones. Does that mean I have to separate the housings to do it? I don't want to mess anything else up by doing it myself so I responded back asking if they would do it if they were sent back to them. I await a response on that one but it sucks now I gotta change back to my stockers and wait a few weeks to get them back and hopefully not have to deal with this again. Good thing I hung on to my stock headlights, this car is my DD. I'd be going nowhere quick without my spare set.....HAS ANYONE CHANGED THEIR INVERTERS on their own and could you give me any advice on what it entails or should I send them in and have AAC do it? Why does it seem like for everyone who has had problems with their halos the magic number is around 2 weeks for them to go bad?

Sorry to hear about that bro. The inverter is attached on the back side of the head lights, I think.

You can access the inverters without opening the housings. you will just have to take off the water seal, and rewire to the parking lights/switch and it will be fine. shouldnt take more than 30 minutes.

The better question is why didn't they send you the good inverters in the first place...

Just as D's300c stated, the inverter can be accessed by taking off the black circular rubber seal on the back of the HID's The inverter should be a little plastic box (I guess the new ones are aluminum water-proof ones) with the ground and power wire coming out one side. The wires attached to each halo should have a plastic connector that plug into the other side of the box. You shouldn't have to take the headlights out and should be able to unplug the halo connectors from one side of the box and cut the ground and power wires from the other side of the box. Now your new box should have a power and ground wire attached to it that you will splice back into where you cut them and then plug the halo connector into the other side and that should do it. If I'm off on any of this please correct me. You also might want to contact Hemmissey because I know he's done the entire process a couple times.

It didn't get "wet" but there was moisture in the housings after install. I contacted AAC about that too and they told me how to dry it out and they still worked fine for a week after that.

Is all this really able to be done without opening up the housings? I've got big hands and don't know if they'll be able to squeeze around in there to do the work.

I don't think they had these new inverters to install originally yet. They are still 2 weeks away from getting their shipment of them.

Sorry to here about your halo inverters. Hopefully you can get them fixed soon so you can continue showing off your ride! Dood luck in the mean time.
