Question De-badging recommendations?

1.Has anyone that went through the de-badging process on their car, regretted the decision afterward? For example, did it affect resale or trade-in in a negative or positive fashion?

2.Has anyone experienced any pitfalls during the process that I should look out for?

3.I was only thinking of removing the rear Chrysler wings. Does anyone have an idea about pricing?

4.Does the whole trunk need to be re-painted?

5.Any shops recommended in the Exton-West Chester, PA area that could do the work? Brandywine Coach Works did the re-build on my last 300C, but they are considered to be a little pricey for the area.

Thanks

I'm sure you know already that the rear badge has 2 holes underneath. So, yeah the right way to do it would mean that the body shop would fill the hols and paint the rear section of the trunk. It shouldn't cost any more that $200. I got a really good friend at a custom body shop who does custom work for dirt cheap but I'm on Long Island. The only other thing about de-badging that I can say is sometimes the stock paint underneath is pitted, bubbled or discolored but you should have that prob since you will have to repaint the trunk. And the de-badge on the rear is a great choice so if you got the couple hundred, go for it!

Try 3D Auto Body on 300 Boot RD in Westchester. 610-692-7776 ask for Pat and tell him Robert from LKQ sent you.

You could also call Charles at Exton Collision 610-363-3555.
Good luck.

Hey Adam! I'm a fellow Long Islander myself. I used to use Phils' Auto Body in Hewlett and I have to say I miss having a friend at a body shop now that I'm out here in farm country. Whereabouts are you. I still head home to see the parents once in awhile and maybe I can throuw your buddy some business if your in Nassau County.

Thanks RG, I just calledl Charles at Exton Collision and he was pretty cool. It may be my next mod when I have more of a reason to paint the whole trunk. It's more than twice the LI price, but seems reasonable.

I'm in Suffolk County but I have a really close friend of mine that has opened a custom body shop about a year ago in Selden. Since he just started his prices are incredible and his work is some of the best and he can get anything done. Plus, he's the nicest guy ever. He 2-toned my Magnum and it came out perfect. He's doing my 300 next week as well as making a custom grille similar to the TOMMY * (he can get that done for you, too in a bout a week but I wanna see how mine comes out) and right now he's fully painting my Camaro and shaving all the emblems, handles, corner lights, antenna....etc. PM me an I can help you out. The 45 min. drive to Suffolk is worth it!

Now that's interesting! I wonder why they decided to use 3M tape on everything else, including the spoiler and have to use fasteners for the wings. Maybe they just don't want us removing their advertizing eh.

Hey Adam. That sounds like a possible plan. I am actually about 3 hours from Selden since we moved out to PA a few years back. I would have to try and schedule some time around our next trip to the parents when the guilt level about them seeing their grandchildren reaches critical mass. For some reason I cannot PM you. Do you have to have a minimum number of posts or something? Try to shoot me a PM and see if it works, then I can just reply.
