Replacing dual wiper arms with single arm

Anyone tried retro-fitting a "single" wiper arm ala Mercedes Benz models replacing the "dual" arms that are Chrysler OEM?

That would be cool.. but I haven't seen that in my 2 years here. Lots of custom work needed, but could be done by someone with the motivation!

That mod would be interesting. I don't believe I have ever noticed that type of wiper on any car. Heck, I don't even know why I have wipers! It barely rains here and the high summer heat really takes a toll on the rubber inserts.

They're pretty cool bruno (9 years in Germany )

Just a central wiper that follows a simple cam... and swipes the whole windshield.

Then, I hope to someday see this feature on a car somewhere around here!
Now, send us some much needed rain!

Heres a video... YouTube - Mercedes Benz E-class (W124) single windshield wiper

Attached is a pic of the wiper systems... Mercedes uses the single arm (controlled)

NVS 300.... I did a google search for 'single wiper conversion kits' and found a lot of UK sites.... but mostly with euro applications. I suppose you could get the dimensions of the windshield and contact some of those manufacturers tech support if you were interested.

CUE,
Thanks for the You Tube video link. It clearly shows the workings of a single wiper arm. I noticed the part of the window doesn't get cleared off as well but that would be okay if the driver seat is on the right side as it would be with the Euro vehicles!

I'm going to try Merc-wreck (local Mercedes wreckers) and measure up the windscreen and have a mook at the mechanism.
