NAV Antenna - Paintable?

Are you able to paint the Nav antenna? I would have thought this would have been painted from the factory.. Would it cause any problems with reception? Need help, car is going into the paint shop on Monday..

Yes, you can paint the atenna. I going to have mine painted along with the windsheild wiper covers. There is a post in here somewhere that shows it. Rugue, AngieC, and mileshover all have done this.

That bump thing on the roof, near the rear window is the satellite radio antenna. See page 8A-166 of service manual.

i painted mine before it was installed, so don't know if it affects it. Mine only goes out in the same spots. Like half of the gas station over hangs, certain car wash bays, a couple of big tree overhangs, a few overpasses, certain tall buildings and all parking garages. Someone did tell me to stay away from any metalic paint, but that is not relevent with cool vanilla.
Does everyone have similar "no signal" outages with or without painted antanae???
