well the shape is all wrong... looks more like they were made for a magnum but don't even look big enough or quite the right shape for that either.

You're right. It looks more like trim for the non-300C models...like mine.

I have a C, but I wish I had the Touring headlight assembly.
They look better than the C's, IMO.
