Hey there i'm pretty sure i heard a bunch of guys that owned 300's talking about this. From what they were saying the main trunk emblem is bolted on which means you would be left with holes if you removed it. I haven't checked to see if this is the case yet.

No, just pull up the double stick tape, use some goo gone to get the residue off, and there are just two holes where the pegs go. No screws or bolts.
I just took mine off, now I'm trying to find someone to fill and paint the holes.

I removed my rear trunk wing on my '08. I took the upper trunk liner down and could just catch a glimpse of a pin through one of the holes. However, there was no nut, just a blob of adhesive. During the heating and removal, it pulled off with the pin clean, as in the picture. Also pictured is the trunk without the emblem, showing the two alignment holes.

I had already planned to shave the trunk when I removed mine. If you'd like to reuse your emblem, beware of overheating and overbending the emblem in the process, as overheating will wrinkle the chrome coating and crack it. WD40 and microfiber help the process so the paint doesn't get scratched.

Good luck with your mod. Look forward to seeing the results!

I didn't heat mine, just pulled up and the two wings slowly toward the center. I'm sure if you heat it, it may come off clean with the tape, but I had no problem removing the tape with my fingers and a little goo gone on a rag after. I didn't go through the trunk.

u can also use dental floss and then use something like the 3m adhesive remover to get rid of any residue.
