Can Chrome be Painted?

Does anybody know if chrome can be painted? For instance can a body shop remove my chrome trim and wing emblems and paint them and then put them back o nthe car? Wil lthe paint and primer stick to the chrome?

yep.. all they need to do is scuff the surface. dont need to strip the chrome or anything.. so scuff, prime, paint, clear.

it can be painted however it IS harder for primer to stick to chrome even if its sanded well. As for chrome trim you should have no problem getting a quality paint job on it. You'll find most bodyshops will tell you it cant just cause they dont want to be held responsible if it were to chip.
