Making My Own Deep Dish Grille - Help!

I stopped by my local bodyshop to check on the progress of my deep dish grille (like the Tommy Z) and yes... it's almost done. He's making it as deep as possible. The only thing we're concerned about is that there is this dark gray foam rectangular bar that runs behind my current stock grille that's in the way and would either have to be removed or modified somehow.... (sorry, don't know what that piece is called)

anybody know how to modify that piece of hard foam bar? do I remove it? should I get him to cut it? what the heck is it?

thanks in advance.

(i will post before & after pics)

Send a message via AIM to GROUNDED
Its part of the bumper support, I would just pull it out and section it then reglue it with some sort of poly glue.

Go to this TommyZ installation thread by greedyk to see pictures and instructions on how this was resolved regarding the foam.

Yeah you have trim the foam I'am 80% in finishing my own. I smoothed of the emblem part and have going to a point. Just another layer of rage gold and resin and the final sand and she will be ready for paint.
