>> New Pics...Tork Grill & Halos, and "HOW TO" Tint Marker Lights

I wanted to post some better pics of the halos and the tinted side marker lights, but there is no way to say "NEW PICS" on the original post, so here they are for those who are interested.
I have just started working on the Halo "HOW TO" guide, but I have said little on the tinted bumper lights.
This is a very simple and relatively inexpensive mod that has great results.

1. Buy clear bumper lights (I got mine off eBay, but I'm sure some supporting vendors also sell them)

2. Use a "fine" scotchbrite pad to sand the face of the lights. Sandpaper works too, but you can't get into the recesses around the raised numbers at the base of the lights. Sanding them flush would be even better.

3. Buy a pint of matching Base Coat color, with hardener, and Clear Top Coat with hardener. If you don’t have a compressor and spray gun, don’t worry; just buy a Preval spray kit to do the work.

Here is a link to the website for info on Preval sprayers:
http://www.prevalspraygun.com/howto.htm

All of this stuff is available at your local "auto body supply store"

4. Mix a "batch" of the clear. Add a small amount of the color into the clear and test spray on some white paper. Keep adding color until the sample spray shows color, but not too much.

Hold the part up to the light and see if the light passes through. If the color goes on too heavy (or light) you can just wipe it off (or sand off) and do-over.

Let it dry for at least 24 hours before installing. It is too easy to mess it up installing the lights unless the paint is hard.

Here are some pics:

Here are some other pics of the halos & the car:

I know the sunset shot looks fake without the proper reflections.... what can I say; I am lazy.

Halo "HOW TO" to follow soon... (refer to "lazy" reference above)

Very nice. Very nice. Why didn't you want to sand it flat? Or at least sand off the numbers? Regardless, great job!

Very nice tork! I always wondered how people got the color matched to be transparent, now I know. Car looks great. You'll have to come to SF next year so I can see it in person.

Ain't this forum great? I learned this trick from another member who tinted his tails using clear and black. I am now thinking of doing the tails in a similar way-

Thanks!
