Got to love New England Weather!

This is going to be a rather big weekend for us. Our son and his family (3.5yr old girl and 9wk old boy) are coming in from Chicagoland (tomorrow to beat the traffic). Then Friday and Saturday some of his/their/our friends will also be coming in from TN, IL, and MN (hopefully). In all we should have about 20 people in our house with five of 'em being under 4yr old! Yikes!

I think this is the 9th "reunion" of sorts of the our son's college group of architects (and friends) which started coming here for Easter weekend back in 2000. When Alivia was born we missed that year because she was born around Easter time. The next couple of years we made it "Easter in July" and had the gathering on July 4th weekend because married couples and familys were more likely to have that holiday than easter (and we didn't have to heat the pool!). This year Judah was born June 23rd, so that took July 4th right out of the picture... so now it's Easter in Sept! LOL

I think next year we'll get back to the mid-summer date... but it's always a party and lots of fun.

Now... where to put all those kids.... and kids of kids...

so i am trying to help my gf look for a car that she can use to drive to work and just for her to get around in since she recently moved out of her parents house and well i cant drive her around all the time since i work most of the week so she needs her own car to get around in but i am really biased towards her getting an lx cause cmon they are the best lol :biggrin:


but in all seriousness though, she wants either a honda accord or nissan altima but what do yall think would be a good daily driver with not as many issues to deal with? cause she has always wanted a charger but she is worried that it is too big and that she might curb check often and of course we all know some of the issues known with the lx vehicles so i want her to have a good and reliable car and not one that is going to give her constant problems and expensive maintenance fees.


i would really appreciate any feedback anyone may have to offer :)

I own a 2006 Jeep Liberty with about 40,000 miles which I have owned since it was new. I bought it for trips, towing, and some off roading. I love the truck but I've had countless problems with it. I brought it into the dealer a couple days ago with 6 different issues that I noticed.

1. Rattle from steering column (needed to be replaced)
2. All 4 windows roll up very slowly.
3. 12v outlet doesn't work (possibly an electrical problem)
4. Rattle from under passenger seat
5. Parking lights used to flash when unlocked and locked from key FOB, doesn't anymore.
6. Rear window hatch leaks like crazy when raining. I checked the seal and it looks fine.

The steering column was $500 which my extended warranty covered, but the all the window regulators need to be replaced which is $1,000 for all 4 plus Chrysler redesigned the regulators so the glass needs to be replaced also which is another $400 for all 4, and apparently there is a TSB out for this issue. My warranty will only cover the steering column, not the windows or anything else listed even though it is listed as something they cover.

Has anyone else heard of there being this many problems with the Liberty's? I'm thinking of dumping it because I have had other problems with this truck previously and I don't want to drop a ton of money into this thing. :pat:

I just bought a 2011 Ford Taurus SHO and I love it. This purchase came after months of research and test drives. Believe me I love the 300s but the Ford stole the SHO (he he) when it came to technology and performance. As far as looks I personally think the 300 still rules but the Taurus looks a tad bit menacing in the right color (like my Kona Blue) and holds the new title of bad azz sleeper. And there is nothing better than rolling down the interstate at 80 mph while have my biscuits massaged and cooled!!! :arms:

Iran will have a fully operational nuclear reactor in less then a week, thanks to the Russians delivering the fuel.

Now we all know that nuclear reactor isn't for clean energy.

Why is Israel just kicking back and not blowing up that facility before the fuel is delivered? If they blow it up afterwards, they screw themselves with the fallout.

Why is the U.S.A. allowing Russia to deliver this fuel? I'm no nuclear physisist, crap I can't even spell it. But isn't weapons grade and power plant grade incredibly similar?

You'd think that Israel (who was threatened by Iran with, "We will wipe them off of the map!") would just destroy that facility before before Russia delivers the fuel.

You'd think that the United States (with the backing of the U.N.) would do the same or flex some muscle to Russia and not allow the delivery.

Once Iran gets their hands on the fuel, it's just a matter of time before BOOM!

Israel IS a nuclear power. They are a force not to be messed with under any circumstances. The Bible said that Israel would no longer be a nation, then would become a nation again. It happened. Regardless what anybody says, Israel wasn't a nation, then in the 40's it became a nation AGAIN. The Bible says that the Israel will have many enemies. The Bible also said that no army, no country would ever defeat Israel again. My money is on Israel. I'm not a Jew, just saying.

I don't condone lashing out at people in any line of work, the reality is that you're gonna deal with jackasses and if you want to keep your job you brush it off and move on. I've dealt with patients that make me want to put the blood pressure cuff around their neck and start pumping madly, but the best thing to do is laugh it off later with coworkers.
THIS is a special case though. This guy deployed the emergency slide and jumped out of the plane! That is quite possibly the most heroic exit of all time! If everything in life had a deployable escape chute, I would have already thrown a bedpan at someone and jumped my way to freedom.

Poor decision? You bet :smashfrea But I hope the judge exonerates him based solely on his leap of faith.
