Somehow this week a new dual exhaust jumped the mod queue when I had installed a new dual conversion kit from Blastin' Bobs. Having had my 3.5l for about a year and a half now, I just got tired of looking at my "soft" rear. The new pipes have a nice low rumble and sound stock until about 2000 rpm. The look is a HUGE improvement as well. Just what I was looking for. Props to propietor Bob who is an owner who actually answers the phone himself. Overall a good and relatively cheap mod. :cool:

I broke down while travelling out of state on Monday** and had to get towed to the nearest dealer. I had the 91 CAI tune installed at the time, and didn't have my Predator with me, so no way to return it to stock.

When I picked my car up 3 days later it felt like it had been returned to the factory tune. Obviously I was a bit nervous about my Predator being locked out and having a paperweight on my hands. So when I got home I plugged in to install the 93 CAI tune (which I've been wanting to do anyway) and it installed just fine.

So the question is, can the dealer flash the ROM back to stock without locking out the Predator? Or am I simply confused and the dealer didn't re-flash and I apparently forgot what the factory tune feels like?

**For those interested, here's what happened. I live in Cincinnati and had been in Louisville for a few days. Monday morning I had packed my car up and went to pull out of the parking garage but my car wouldn't come out of park. I didn't panic, had read about that here. Took off the chrome bezel around the shifter and depressed the pink thingy. No joy. Took off the 2 screws under the rubber thingy and pulled off the next layer of the console. Popped the shifter cable off and manually shifted into reverse. Here we go I thought.

Started to drive around the parking garage (I was 3 levels under street level) and when I hit the first ramp to go up to the next level, the trans started slipping badly and I slid backwards. Great. Not only do I have bigger trans problems, but I'm in a parking garage where no wrecker can get me. After some fiddling I realized reverse was working better than drive, so I turned her around and drove up 3 levels of parking garage backwards and made it out onto the street where the wrecker could grab me. Got a few stares.

Anyway, the dealer said the trans was fine. The computer just got confused because I was in park and therefore shouldn't have been moving, so it didn't know what to do. They replaced the shifter and all is well. Actually I like the new shifter better. It's quieter and firmer.

Ever since I got my highflow cats installed my exhaust shifted inside towards the car..the tips were sticking out a little(like the factory pieces) but now its flush with the bumper..is this because the magnaflow cats are shorter than the stock cats so it requires pulling the exhaust back some?

I have the blastin bobs resenator deletes,and yes i tryed adjusting them to pull it out but its a no go..any way to fix this?

mods: 180 stat, k&n panel drop in filter.

91 tune no cold air, 1st one. i riched up the fuel 1 notch,(5) rich for 1-4k rpm. , 2 notch, (10) for 4-5k rpm, and 2 notches rich, or (10) for 5-6k rpm.

on my car it runs quicker by adding fuel to the non cold air intake tune.

i time my car with a stop watch from (5mph roll to 75mph) to be able to be consistent with any changes. also from 3-6k rpms in 2nd gear.

it really pulls hard now from 4-6k rpm now. its interesting that our cars dyno chart shows a bump in hp, a hump if u will, form 4-6krpm. right where i added the most fuel. anyway it worked. i might have it dynod just to see the air fuel ratio.

I was reading one time that with the stock SRT8 airbox, you can run a CAI tune on the Predator. Is this true? Also do I need to change the settings on the Predator for the 3.06 rear gear ratio on the SRT8? Thanks.

I want to install a cat back,which I will but I want to know if I should also change my cats as well or do the headers and cat back.Which way will I get more out of.Also I will be having a CMR tune done.Right now I can only do 3 out of the four so any help would help greatly.Thanks.

Couldn't I just get one exhaust cut out and have the shop weld it to the center section of the stock x pipe right before the mufflers? this way save money since for a good pair your looking at 300-500 bucks

Has anyone tried this product yet? It sounds a little phony. $69 for 60HP added by a chip that adjusts fuel / air mix.

If everyone had seen my earlier post I had bought a slp loudmouth II catback and its wayyyyyy too loud for my car. I was looking at a magnaflow exhaust catback? Can the owners tell me how it sounds on the srt8? Is it a nice deep when accelerating?

so i want to switch out the mufflers on my 05 300c to get i better exhaust tone. while searching at magnaflow stuff, i run in to so many options. shapes sizes inlet and outlet placement, what do i need?!

Hi, I recently replaced my stock 2006 5.7 exhaust system with a full cat back magnaflow system. However i've noticed at highway and cruising speeds the exhaust makes a droaning sound and when you excelerate its goes to a different pitch. Is this normal or sound familiar? Many Thanks
