I am in the market for a new 300C and am looking at the 5.7 & SRT8 but I hear a new model is coming ? the 300S but I also hear from my car lease company there may be no more 300C's for Australia!! Does any one know what the truth is in these rumours? Thanks

Parking blocks "concrete" damaged lower front fascia panel, since the 300c SRT8 is kinda lowered. one day i parked my car and i have ridden up over one of those parking blocks , so i tried to carefully reverse a lil bit but the bumper got stuck, i almost ripped off the whole bumper while reversing. Thank god there was only scratches and a small cut, but the cut is getting bigger everyday, almost reaching left VOG light. The front fascia panel is damaged and most of the screws on the left side are ripped off. I looked everywhere on the internet for a repair with no success.

Does anyone know a good repair shop here in Sydney ?

Recently I parked the SRT8 at Hungry Jack's, being very careful not to touch those concrete 45' angle stops that could foul your lower front fascia panel. I got out and noticed I had actually driven over the stop and as I had not felt any contact with it I didn't think too much about it. We enjoyed our short break from driving and then it was time to head home another 80Kms. Jumped in the car and gently reversed out and heard this horrible noise as we ripped the whole front fascia from the SRT,(because of the 45' angle the car had ridden up over the stop). Inspection revealed it was just holding by those top push pin screws. Somehow managed to hand tighten those slide screws on both sides after pushing it back into place. Also found some string and tied it around both sides to stop it flapping in the breeze and hightailed it home as quick as I could. Arrived home with no impediment problems along the way. The next day I got to work on the car and pulled the front fascia off, but found the real problem was the bottom belly pan panel, all the holes were totally ripped out as all the screws were all still attached to the front fascia. Solution, down to the local panel shop where I asked if I could have one of those old under guard wheel panels off something that had been recently repaired. Home with the panel,then I cut out some rectangular pieces and epoxy glued them over the elongated ripped holes and when they had set I drilled new holes in them and reassembled the panel. It's all back together and looks fine.

Next question has anybody fitted sensors to the front of their SRT?

I have some after market sensors that I purchased for another project but I not sure how I could wire them in so they only worked when I was driving slowly into a parking spot, don't want them working when I'm cruising down the highway and there would be no point wiring them up to the reverse lights. Any help greatefully appreciated.

I think mine may be on the way out. 4 years old today, 75,000Klm. However, I only drive it once a week at most unless touring. That's is how I achieve the Klm's that I have. Plus I'm off on a 6000Klm trip this week for the next month,WOW you beauty!!. I will post a few pics as usual.

As I mentioned in another post my righthand tail light was broken at the local shopping centre car park. Going to put new light in this weekend but thought I would ask if anyone has done this and could explain the procedure and have any tips before I start pulling things apart.

I just had an adjustable camber kit fitted to my 300. After it was all fitted we dialed in the wheel alignment and suspension hight and rebound firmness. I drove the car home 250k. Man! What a ride! Stuck to the road like glue.

I first noticed this small rattle from the LHS front suspension around 12,000 kms when ever I drove over a small bump or manhole cover. I pointed it out to the stealership but they told me there was nothing wrong after thoroughly inspecting the whole front end, but its still there and its driving me nuts. The car has now covered 20,000 kms and the warranty is due to run out next April. The SRT8 is one of three cars that I own and has only ever been driven occasionally and has never been abused or driven off road so I'm wondering what the fault maybe.I watched the stealership mechanics when they checked the car and I can tell you I was not impressed with their diagnoses of the fault. Any ideas?

I have five cars insured with Shannons. on July 13 I get a letter from them saying my policy is amended, all ok, then I get a letter on the 9th of August inviting me to renew my policy on Sept 12. Check the policy and get pissed off. All cars are insured for agreed value, but cop the difference in the insured sum between July and August.

July - August
car 1 $27,170 - $27,170 Ok

car 2 $11,000 - $10,300 Ok

car 3 $14,000 - $13,800 Ok

car 4 $23,000 - $20,700 hmm, insured 6 mths

300c $47,000 - $41,280 WHAT:dead1: down 6000
stuff that. My question is, are there any other insurance companys out there that will insure modified cars?

I was doing some wiring under the bonnet and I tried to attach a magnetic torch to the bonnet but to no avail so I guess it's made out of alloy.Any ideas?

I wonder how many members have scuffs on their rims from parking or cutting the corner in some of these very tight car park exits. Well I have and I chose to see if I could remove them with a cheap $20 dremel copy (small mulitipurpose hand held grinding tool). I started with a small rotary file and ground the damaged surface to an almost flat appearance.Then I used a very fine wet and dry sandpaper )400/320 to get it a bit smoother and then got out the small felt buffing tool and dipped it in car polish and proceeded to buff the area till I had a surface as close as possible to the original polished rim. I was surprised how good it looked and I'm now very happy with the result. Its well worth a try and you got nothing to loose. Just experiment on a piece of aluminium if your not to confident. 2008 Chrysler 300 300C Amber LED Chrome Mirror Covers: eBay Motors (item 300347082265 end time Sep-06-10 20:16:42 PDT)

Anyone knows anything about this Chrome LED Mirror Cover? Will it fit our Australian 300C? I believe our car is over complicated when it comes to side mirrors. Power with fold, power without fold, manual fold, no fold, painted, no paint, chrome.... when a mirror cover is said to fit them all then I have doubt that it just won't fit ours.

As my chrome cover was crack by stone and needs a fix anyway. I wonder how much it is to simply spray them with matching body colour. Some say it can't be done because of chrome. Some say it needs to sand down before painting. And crack on plastic is not a guarantee fix.

Last time I ask it was a $800 part per side from dealer so I have hold off until now. Anyone has done any mod/fix/paint to their chrome mirror and please share your view.

Hey Guys I think the tranny is stuffed... this morning I hooked the car trailer on to head up the coast to pick up a new toy and felt a little shudder in the transmission under acceleration and never thought much more about it as it has done it before when its been cold... pulled into fill up at the servo and upon leaving an entering the on ramp I noticed a whining noise (sounded like a metal gear drive) and the shudder getting a little worst than before... pulled over to check it out and the whining seemed to go away, so I take off carefully again and the same happens (whining and shuddering) then the tranny starts slipping n shuddering worst and goes into limp mode and engine light comes on (check on predator code P0700) now the whining n slipping is full on and you can only get to about 40km’s and it goes into limp mode.... anyways after stuffing around all morning I finally got her home and now need to work out where to go from here... soooo has anyone had this issue before or know of any decent auto transmission shops in brissy...

Its possibly time to off load big bird.





What price should i be asking?
