FAQ - AirRaid Intake install

AirRide Intake.

The engine before the operation:

Stock air filter and top housing removed:

This involves removing the front two plastic retainer clips and just sliding the top of the box off. Don't forget to remove the breather rubber hose from the back of the box.

Airraid filter housing box goes in place of the stock box and just locks in place. The housing is powdercoated aluminum to desipate heat. You have to bolt it together with the given hardware (4 bolts, 4 spacing nuts and 4 retaining nuts). The entire assembly slips in the stock retaining clips of the stock box, and the intake tube fastens to the assembly in stock location.

Note*** You will need to trim the breather hose tube that comes with the kit, as it is too long to fit into the AirRaid housing. With the blade, trim off 1/4 inch off the tube, for perfect fit.

New filter on. The whole thing only took a couple of minutes and its an easy DIY project.

Hope this helps.

This is a 20-30minute project that even the least mechanically inclined among us can tackle easily.

Nice pics. Someday I will eventually buy CAI. AirAid also has this online pdf installation sheet. Looks real easy.

Thanks for the "How-To", slk320. I like the elegant simplicity of this airbox. It's clever how they fit it against the hood padding to seal out hot air, allowing the filter to stay in view when the hood is open.

Probably my next mod, with the silencers out and a pipe down to the lower grille. Nice pics.

What would be the advantages of this over the K&N Typhoon intake?

My dealer advised that a new airfilter/CAi does not void the warranty. My AirRaid came with a 50state Carb legal certificate as well.
