Smile Backup light bulb comparison

HI guys after i received my tails tinted my i decided to take the plunge into different light bulbs. I was intrigued to start with back up lights when i saw how nice the cadillacs look and how ugly mine look.

I am sure you have read many people saying how great one or another bulb is for backing up. I am hear to show and tell you the truth. After researching i did find that regular bulbs are said to be brighter than 3057's but i hated the hew of yellow from the stock.

Ok For reference 3057,3157,3757 are all interchangeable for the most part a 3057 and 3157 can fit in all three sockets. 3757 tabs have to be shaved to fit in the other two sockets.

here is a picture of the bulbs i picked upfor driving in reverse. I choose the 45 leds because people have been bragging about how crazy bright they are. The one on the right i choose just some filament extreme white PIAA bulbs, figuring piaa is a leader in lights, we'll put them to the test.
45 led cost about $25 shipped for the pair the piaas cost about $13-15 for the pair

this picture shows the night shot of the 45 led on the left paired with the stock on the right. my camera isnt state of the art but still u can tell whats going on. The 45 led had a more nice expensive euro look while the stock looks kina yellow.
Comparison in brightness: stock wins, i had a brighter casting on the ground and this bulb was harder to look at.
Appeal: would take the 45 led all day this is stunning to look at from a distance and close.

This picture is a cropped photo of a closeup of the 45 leds on left and PIAA on right.
Comparison in brightness: THE piaa is brighter and sends an awsome wide angle casting on the ground.
Appeal: The 45 led looks great, the PIAA looks very white but for some reason has a bluish green twinge to them in the tailight.

Verdict: For brightness choose the piaa for looks choose the 45 led.
Warning: Be very careful if you go with the 45 led bulbs they are a very tight fit into the tailight housing a slight bit of angling is required and being careless i broke one, not a cheap fix.
Stay tuned this is just the beggining: I recently ordered the brand new 57 led 3157 bulbs to compare since (said to be brighter by cal motor than the 45 led) one of my 45 leds already broke on my behalf. I also ordered superbrightleds.com 3 watt luxeons led bulb because of this claim:
"Our exclusive LX3 series bulbs use High Power 3 Watt Luxeon LEDs to achieve light outputs even higher than standard filament bulbs
3 Watt LEDs feature super wide 130 degree beam angle to illuminate entire tail light lens" these are not cheap soo they better win at $25 each i could be losing my mind
for those in the market wait another week and you will know what to buy i promise

The Luxeons will win hands down. Do a google on them and you will see the tremendous amount of white light that they throw.

here is superbrightleds.com luxeon lx3 3157 bulb
the quality is awsome if i believe the longevity of this bulb is going to be far superior to all the other bulbs.

here is two of my new bulbs in the reverse slots. THe one on the right is the 45 led the one on the inside left is the luxeon bulb. Both are pretty awsome so i think i am going to leave them just like this. The luxeon is almost right on 4300k by looking at it and the 45 led would be somewhere at 6-8000k.
the 45 leds def fills the enclosure better prob because there is 45 bulbs but the luxeon is the brightest bulb tested.

OH BTW i also received the 56 led cal motors replacement to the 45 and didnt do a head to head comparison because they look almost identical just a slight different configuration on the end with the leds.
