side mirror question

My sides mirrors work fine. My problem is when I have the reverse engaged and the mirrors aim down the passenger side does not return to the original position when I return to park/drive. It stays down. Now is there something that is replaceable or do I need the entire unit? Thanks in advanced. Just not looking for the dealer to tell me I need to spend more than I have to...

Have you tried resetting the option in EVIC? Turn it off, then turn it back on?

That's a good option ^^^^

I do remember reading about somebody else with the same problem - but I don't remember the outcome. Might be able to find it in a search.

You could also try to pull some fuses. #40 in the trunk is a 5 amp orange for power mirrors. And #41 in the trunk is a 10 amp red that says it is for rear park assist if equipped - not sure if that includes the tilted side mirrors.

I didn't know when I bought the car either - I remember the first time I noticed. I thought something was broke. It actually takes a little bit to get used to not leaning up to look in the mirrors when in reverse, but rather just staying seated in a normal driving position. And it's funny when passengers notice for the first time... with all of this time and money we spend on our cars, you end up seeing someone flip out over "how cool the tilt mirrors are". sigh

Can you manualy move both the mirrors up and down? If so looks like it should work as long as you turn it on in the EVIC. If it is not working try pulling both fuses 40 and 41 in the trunk. Worked for me today... Worth a shot
