Oh, headrest screens shouldn't be pulling that much power to really effect anything. Hmmmm....

So did this problem only start AFTER you did the headrest install?

Maybe you have a power trickle somewhere? I guess it could be the headrests - are you sure that they are hooked to an ignition 12v source and not a constant 12v source?

Although, I still don't see why it would die after starting. Hmmmmmm.....

Guess a new battery can't hurt

Ya know, reading again about how your negative terminal was "caked", I'm thinking that obviously is a big clue. But you say that the auto shop said the battery was good? No leaking around the negative terminal?

Or maybe the ground cable is bad? Ironically I have an OEM ground cable in my F/S thread - I would have been happy to send that to you with the last shipment. If you think you need it - let me know... I already have your address afterall. But you might as well go buy a foot of 0 gauge cable and some terminals and upgrade it.

Here's what I just did to the negative on my apparent 100K battery...

Oh nice.. yeah i was thinking the same that my installer hooked it up to a constant 12v source. The negative cable is fine, it was just caked at the terminal which i cleaned up good as new...

Yup, alternators are not like the old generators that had some residual magnetism that was enough to produce electricity when disconnected from the battery. An alternator needs some external power to energize the rotor windings to produce a magnetic field to make electricity.
