Trunk shocks on 2005...

I have only had my car for about 2 months and I would know nothing different but are our trunk shocks suppose to shut our tunks slow and easy? Mine open and hold the trunk perfectly.. No complaints but when shutting it... It pretty much just slams shut. The shocks look fine. I was just curious. As I said.. It opens and holds it open just fine... Shutting it seems to be an issue.
Nobody but me is allowed to shut the trunk...

Your trunk struts are shot.

That's the response I was expecting honestly... Just didn't understand why they open nice and stay open without a problem.
Thanks for the response.

Nope...
What mine do is this...
When I pop the trunk with the key fob or trunk release.. It just cracks open. I lift it all the way up. It says open just fine but it has to be all the way open. Not half way or even 3/4.. All or nothin.. So to speak.. Ha!
Anyway... I just have to tap it to get it to move downward and nothin is standin in its way... Well hopefully...
Seriously though... It shuts great as long as I "help" shut it.
I always thought it was kinda weird that when I popped the trunk with the key or trunk release that it didn't open a little more than what it does anyway.
So does this sound a lot like yours?

Looks... Sounds like we need new shocks. Seem pretty much like they are a dime a dozen really. $30 pair sounds like the going rate... Give or take a few dollars.
