Dash light flicker...

I know this is an on going.... Long discussed topic.. I searched and it seems as though there really has never been a true "fix" and I went back to 2004.
I notice my dash lights flicker occasionally... Cold or not. It includes my clock and headlights. It's more noticeable to me when the high beams are on.
It is NOT any more profound when I am at idle or driving at 30mph. It's the same. I can be at a stop light at idle with the defrost on and the turn signal going and it will not flicker. It's completely random.
I originally was thinking maybe I had a weak battery but I kinda put it to the test the other day.
My car sat 2 days... Nearly 48 straight hours with temperatures dipping nearly 30 BELOW ZERO and it started right up without hesitation... Which honestly surprised the hell out of me.. Truly amazed me.
I have read on this forum and on lx that it really is not an issue and us lx owners just got to deal with it.
My concern is my daughters have gotten me HIDS fogs and headlights... Only the low beams, for my Birthday /Christmas and I still have to finish my stereo install so I don't have my amp on my alternator yet. I foresee a worse problem...
Maybe a 160 amp alternator is a fix? Is the factory 130 or 140..whichever our car has just a little to weak maybe?
I thought I had read at one time that it could be a headlight switch? Dirty switch contacts?
