Hi,
I've some knock from the engine (I guess). It always happens if I give it gas, no matter what speed. If I let up on acceleration and give it gas these is a single knock (not a ping or tick). No knock when it's in neutral and I give it gas.
To further maddog... does it sound like internal knock or like a knock from external like a thud or single metal on metal knock?
If its external and only does it once but not in neutral, just in gear under load or when releasing from load, I was wondering if it could be a bad motor mount... what do you think maddog?

So it only knocks once? It's not a constant knock knock knock that varies with RPM?
Hi,
Its only knock once - its not knock knock.
One know when you give gas (acceleration), then another knock when you give gas again after that you have release the gas.

I would check your motor mounts... you could pop the hood, place the car in gear with your foot on the brake, have someone stand beside (not in front!!) of the car and step on the gas a bit and see if the sound is there. Have the person look down at the sides of the motor and see if it rocks to one side much around the same time as the noise.

I'd check the motor mounts, both ends of the drive shaft (u-joints) and your rear differential output shafts for the clunk.
If you think it's coming from the engine compartment, then check the motor mounts first. Give the underside a good visual inspection and don't forget to look under the hood. Check everything under there as nothing is supposed to be moving enough to "klunk". Airbox, engine cover, fusebox and cover, hoses, etc... Just get under the hood and play, "wiggle, wiggle, wiggle" with everything.
Also, check the battery and make sure the battery holder is fastened properly.

Thanks - I'll try to check everything - I'll let you know.
