2013 300S climate control issues unresolved by dealer

Typically just spring and fall, outdoor temps in low 50s, typically when no sunshine and raining, so wipers are on. Climate control on auto, set to 71 degrees, but really hot air out of dash vents, sometimes floor vents, whatever was used last perhaps. Leaving on auto, turning down temp control a few degrees at a time, no change. Open climate control center on touch screen, turn down temp all the way to LO, then very cold air comes out. Changing temp up a bit at a time, no change. So, either it will do extreme HI or extreme LO. Turn off the entire system, wait a couple minutes, back on...same trouble. Turn off system again, usually then OK. In heavy rain when very hot air is blowing, also seems that the recirculation door is stuck closed, inside windshield fogs up terribly and fast, dangerously bad visibility. Have to turn on front defogger. This is all tricky to deal with while driving in heavy rain and reduced visibility. Worst news of all is even with repeated stories of this each spring and fall since new car purchase in 2013, dealership service guys say they've never heard of this, can't find any info on this, and no offer for any kind of fix. I read other forum discussions on similar trouble and their dealerships have replaced this that and t'other. I'm soooo frustrated. My dealership basically is saying if they can't replicate it, they can't fix it, not to mention their dismissive tone with me when I suggest what I have read on forums (yup, I'm a woman!). I need a short list of what to replace in what order to take into dealership. I've met with sales manager to complain, just got lip service. I'll soon meet with general manager. Thanks in advance.

Hi RKWC,

I'm sorry for the frustrating experience! It is usually necessary for the service department to be able to replicate the concern or have a stored code so they know where to start with diagnosing and repairing. However, we'd be happy to document your concerns and open a case the next time you're at the dealership to see if we can assist on our end. If you're interested, please send a private message with your VIN and we can do that.

Thank you, Kori, for your kind offer. In reading other discussion threads on this topic, other dealerships have tried replacing the HVAC, the sensor button on the center dash, the door actuators, and the bus, even when they couldn't replicate the problem. Other dealerships have been willing to brainstorm and try to satisfy their customers by replacing various parts. My dealership hasn't, as long as my car was under warranty. Funny thing, though, when I would bring a used Ram 2500 in for various problems, and out of warranty, they would tear it apart looking for anything and everything to fix...on my dime. There are too many trust issues for me with my dealership now and I don't plan on returning to that specific one, after I let the GM know what's been going on for over three years now with my 300S. I just want to know from someone on this forum what they would suggest to do first, second, third. I will seek a different dealership, I guess. While it is an intermittent problem, when it occurs, it's dangerous and/or uncomfortable driving. I hope to eventually get it fixed cuz it's such a sweet car otherwise. Thanks again!
