Suspension issues

Took my 300 in to get new tires today. The store owner, long time friend, called and told me to drop by so he could show me some issues with my car. It seems the RF lower control arm has a lot of slop in it and the LR wheel/hub has a lot of play in it. I took a video of the issue with LR wheel and then dropped it off at our local Chrysler dealer to get an assessment. I do have 7yr/100K Added Care Plus until 2-23-2019 and currently have 77K miles on it.

He advised he has observed both issues before on 300 and chargers.

they're heavy cars and hard on the suspension. I have about 70,000 miles, I'm on my 3rd set of front hubs (aftermarket don't seem to last as long as the originals). I've replaced both front upper control arms & its on the ramp at the moment having just had lower ball joint, tension arms & lower control arms changed. I've never updated the rear though!

The guys at Southern Chrysler are a great bunch. If I had any gripe it would be with Chrysler Warranty not the dealer. They advised they need to do an alignment after the parts are replaced but the alignment was not covered under warranty. I think it should be included if it's required after the repairs.

I did not have any noise but, I had noticed about 1 year ago that under hard acceleration the car felt like it was kicking out to the left in the rear even without any tire spin. I just assumed it was the tires getting squiggly or something.

Then you have done really well. The balljoints, drop links, anti-sway bar, tie bar and top arm bushes seem to need replacing 50-70k miles from what I have read and experienced.

You can get parts e.g. from Moog which last longer (bushes) and balljoints which can be greased, for example:
- ball joints: https://www.carid.com/2009-chrysler-300-suspension-parts/moog-ball-joint-21665746.html
- sway bar bushes: https://www.carid.com/2009-chrysler...moog-stabilizer-bar-bushing-kit-21665738.html

The latter of these are not expensive and are easier than standard ones to fit

I just received a call from the dealer, the car will not be ready until Monday. I had also asked them to look into the rear defroster not working and they advised they are having to replace the rear window and that will not be in for a week or more. Supposed to pick the car up Monday and drive it until the back glass gets in. Sure am glad I got the extended warranty.

The dealer called me today. Seems my car is still not ready. They got me a rental from Enterprise. I dropped by and picked it up. New RAM SLT CC with a Hemi. It's not as nice as my wife's Laramie but it will work until I get mine back.

Picked up my car yesterday. Between the new Bridgstone Ecopia 422 Plus tires, new LR lower control arm and alignment, it now rides and drives like a new one. They also did the passenger side air bag recall replacement while they had it. They are still waiting on the replacement rear window so I will take it back when that gets in. Can't say enough about the great service I received from the people at Southern Chrysler.
