I have the same issue on my 2007. No problem with handling, so I am just living with it.

Well I don't know if this will help but my C has the ever so Evil black cloud over its head. Now I myself had this loose rattle and thought that it might be the plastic undercarriage protector, but after messing with that for over an hour and getting no results I decided to take it in and guess what? It needs 2 struts and 2 sway bar links. If it isn't your tie rods or the links then maybe the struts. I only have 10K miles on mine and it was bought new and I have yet to throw my rims on. Maybe this could help you. Best of luck finding the evil that lurks within the suspension.

I once had some front end clunking and it was the upper control arm, which needed tightening.
I had previously had my upper control arm replaced because the seal boot was damaged during my KW install. The upper control arm was not tightened to spec and eventually started to clunk.
But this is a long shot solution for you, unless your upper control arm(s) were removed/replaced.

I seem to have the same problem and I took mine to a tech and they actually told me I need to have everything ball joints tie rods and on top of that he added that I would need to buy a whole new spindle which i found out is a 750 dollar part but I am currently having the tie rods and air suspensioin put in so we will see if that fixes anything before I go any further

The Upper strut bearing was gone out of our 2005 base 300. 25 000 km. I believe they replaced the whole strut. Took them a couple of months and two or three cars with the same problem to figure it out.
