Oil Pressure Switch/Sensor keeps coming on

I've had my local shop has replaced this sensor twice already. theyre okay for a few minutes then once im in idle the symbol pops up on my dash. They had told me they did a oil pressure test and nothing seemed out of the ordinary. Ive always used Valvolines full synthetic oil along with mobil1 oil filters. its seems that it starts popping up once the car is warmed up, im in chicago so its cold here. any thoughts? I'm going back monday, but maybe if i bring them some kind of info they can find the problem.

what oil pressure test did they do hope it was a direct reading after the engine was warmed up does it do it at idle or above idle could possibly be a wire problem or a slugged up engine if this shop has changed the oil pressure sensor twice for the same problem i would take to somebody that has a clue.

i'm not sure which they did. all they said was oil pressure test. ill be sure to mention if they do it while the car is warmed up. the owner said he drove it around for an hour to run errands and he didnt hear a single chime. I've added some oil as it was a bit below the max line, and it hasnt gone off (knock on wood). A guy at oriellys says it could be where the switch plugs into maybe dirty or something. kind of makes sence since I cracked my belly pan on a speed bump over the summer.

tony300 did you replace the oil pan you cracked if not is it leaking and do you have big dent in it and if it does is close to were the oil pick up screen is located in the oil pan and did your oil light problem start after you cracked the oil pan on the speed bump ??. how often do you change your oil and how many miles on the car and i would pull the oil pressure sensor out and if there is crud in there i would think you have a sludge issue and i would take steps on taking care of that issue before you have to put a new engine in.
