I have the same issue here. I've found a few other posts online about this, but no real solution. I did find another post which indicates it may be a "switch" though there is no indication of what switch or where it is.

My friends father who has been an American car mechanic for 25 years and owns his own business said it was most likely the ignition switch. I never had it fixed so I can't confirm but that's what he said it was after looking at the car. He also said the real problem with my car is that it was a Chrysler.

I replaced the ignition switch tonight, it did not change anything, and at this point, I am inclined to agree with your friend's father.

I had issues with the heated seats not working and the airbag lights coming on all the time (i.e. - airbags were off).

I took it to the dealership and they hooked it up to the computer... no connection to the heated seats control module or the airbag control module (both located under the passenger seat). They pulled the seat out and showed me the connections... seems there was water leaking on the passenger side of the car and the connectors had green/rusted look. Not sure where the leak came from and the dealer said that this was the first they had seen... my car is an 06 300C with 55,000kms.

They didn't know if changing the control modules would be enough as there may be a short somewhere in the wiring harness and could cause the same problem again... they told me to trade it in on a new car (at a non-chrysler) dealership and hope for the best price on the car. Otherwise the entire wiring harness may have to be replaced and that means the dash has to come out... $$$$$$$$...

way too many electronic components on these new cars for my liking...

anyhow... my dad decided to trade in the car this weekend for a GMC Denali... we will see if they notice the problem...
