So here is my problem. Every now and then my 2006 Chrysler 300 has this problem where the airbag light comes on, and when this happens, my climate control module also goes down. I have heard several people suggest clock-spring for related airbag issues, possibly ignition switch, and a few others but nobody seems to have the right or full answer. When this happens I go crazy and start pulling all the fuses and disconnecting and reconnecting everything to check for errors and I always come up empty handed, it is very frustrating. I love this forum and it's members so I am reaching out to you, please help me diagnose what is wrong with my vehicle. If you reply I will be sure to do the same within the hour.
Bump for love! I am really trying to see what the good people of this forum think before I dish out 3 gagillion dollars at the stealership. Any help would be greatly appreciated as always.
The factory service manual has all kinds of scary warnings when messing with the airbags. Also, the material inside the propellant can is extremely poisonous.
This is one time I'd recommend the stealership. We're lucky enough to have two good ones here, even if they're a little far from me, they're worth the drive.

if you have to mess with the air bag disconnect the battery and there is nothing thats going to poison you i copied this from the internet it gives the chain of events that happen when an air bag deploys
a initiator contains a thin wire that heats up and penetrates the propellant chamber. This causes the solid chemical propellant, principally sodium azide, sealed inside the inflator to undergo a rapid chemical reaction (commonly referred to as a pyrotechnic chain). This controlled reaction produces harmless nitrogen gas that fills the air bag. During deployment the expanding nitrogen gas undergoes a process that reduces the temperature and removes most of the combustion residue or ash.
the airbag issue i have no clue about but i can tell u that when i purchased my 2007 300 about a week later i had i back at the dealer for a climate control problem in which they had to tear my dash down and replace some sort of module that was defective.....the mechanic informed me that this was an issue they were having on more than just my vehicle.
man, i am having the same issue, however, mine began after I was charging my laptop using a power inverter while the car was off. The inverter was a really small, low amp, low wattage one that I got from Radio shack. After about half an hour of using the inverter, the inverter shut off at which I thought it was the fuse in there, then I tried connecting my cell phone charger in the power outlet, I realized it was the car's fuse that blown. I didn't change it at that time, started using the center console outlet just to charge my cell not the laptop, that subsequently blew. After replacing the two 20 amp fuses in the rear, then all of the sudden I started having other problems, the fuse that controls the steering wheel tilt, front windows, wipers, signal lights, etc. blew, at the same time the control panel for the ac stop working, and the EAS BAS light came on. I disconnected the battery, testeed all the fuses and even though most of them were good, replaced them anyway. Now the steering wheel, windows, signals, wipers all work except the AC control panel. The lights illuminate, but nothing else work. Can't turn on the rear defroster, circulation, or ac controls. I've tried everything. Took it to the dealership and the told me its a minimum of $200 for 2 hours of labor just to look at it. I don't want to do that if its a simple fuse/relay problem. Can anyone tell me which fuse/relay also controls the ac control panel or when i can begin testing to get to the bottom of this. BTW, the EAS/BAS light went off and the airbag light came on with the non working ac controls.
Thanks for the help in advance
This is for a 2005 chrysler 300c and the laptop I was charging was a netbook so I dont know how it blew the fuse, it draws minimal power
Well It appears we are having similar issues. My airbag light is off now and my heat is working again, which is nice because I live in Green Bay, but I know it will just happen again. I just don't get how the airbag and the climate control are connected. Even on the wiring diagram they share nothing as far as I can see. My friends father said it could be the ignition switch, but I don't get that either. It's such a mysterious issue.
Well I'm hoping someone in the forum can help me out. I have the same issue, airbag light on and no heater controls. This has been going on for a little more than a week. I have done some research and have already replaced Diode #2 in the rear fuse box. In addition, I have also checked and double checked fuse 14 and 40 in the rear fuse box. My car is a 2006 300 Touring. It has a Viper remote starter which was already installed in the car when I purchased it three years ago. I thought I would throw that info in as well as some of my research has indicated the remote start could be a contributing factor to the issue. I'm looking to resolve this issue as soon as possible as I live outside of Chicago and it is starting to get colder here. Any help would be great. Thank you in advance.

Sold the car. That was my fix. I was always a European guy and the 300 was my try at American. I now drive a MKV GTI.
