Pretty sweet! I like the idea and how cheap it is. Someone should start making these in their free time and hook up the fourm members for Christmas!

I made a flip fob today!

Does anyone know how much it costs to have one of our keys cut?

Cut or programed? For cutting you can go to your local hardware /key place and have it cut. programmed ive heard up to 150 by a dealer.

Just a heads up about the ebay key, I contacted someone that bought it and had it cut at a walmart. He said all he had to do was shorten the actual key a little bit and transfer the chip from your original key into the switchblade one, and it was good to go. So I think im gonna buy one today along with the previous poster and try it out.

I just bought one too.

I've had a flip one for a few years now since a member used to make them. I'm buying another one for a spare.

I painted my first one in Silver Steel to match my car.

I took it to Home Depot to get cut and they kinda gave me a hard time saying they weren't responsible if it didn't work.

Yada yada just cut it. Switched my interiors over and it worked no problem since!

So then basically all one would habe to do is pull the guts out of the current one I have from the factory and put it in the switchblade fob and It should work?

Also, I didn't realize that there was a chip in the key itself but I thought the chip was in the fob box, not directly in the metal of the key.

If one was to cut the original key itself I mean cut off some length of the current key how much would you cut off? Like a 1/8" +/- ?

Best Regards, Nick Schultz
