Well, it's at an angle, so at the the farthest edge it's about 5" out over the floorboard from the side. So if you would want the floorboard to open all of the way out, it would require at least a 5" section on the side to flip over somehow.
I should note though, I'm having second thoughts about doing that. Simply because I had to pull my sub out this weekend and I realized it wasn't bad at all. About 30 seconds of spinning the barrel nut, wiggled it out and then pulled the banana plug. One minute job. Toughest part was just pulling the velcro on the bottom.
And I rarely need to open the floorboard. Therefore I'm wondering if this is still even something I need to do anymore.
Don't know if you checked my thread, but what I did was JB Weld a metal plate with a hole to the back of the enclosure / added a bolt through the side wall / slipped it through and secured it with a barrel nut - so no tools needed to remove it...
