Ok so I've heard that the engine number is just the last 8 digits of the VIN but I have my car booked in for an inspection tomorrow morning and the inspector will need to physically sight the engine number before he will approve the vehicle for licensing. I'm talking about the same mob who last week listed on my first inspection form 'clean and locate engine number'. The number's always been there, they just probably couldn't find it..!!
The dealership today told me 'left hand side, back of cylinder head on engine block' is where the number is.
Does anyone have a photo of exactly where this number is..?? It'd be great to know exactly myself as I can point it out to the guys at the inspection center in the morning and get my damn car on the road!
I saw this number whilst looking under the car this arvo but I don't think it's the engine number?
