5.7 Hemi the same in all 2005?

As most know I am new to MOPAR. A friend of mine just purchased a Dodge Magnum.. 2005 with less miles than mine.. Same motor... But I can say this... Performance wise there is no comparison and I don't understand why.
Mine is a 2005 as his Magnum is so I assume they are the exact same motor... Confusing.
I am in no way slamming on Magnums. They are a pretty nice car. Not my style but to each his own I guess.
I was just completely surprised that the performance was so different. I even had to drive it to judge for myself.
They both have CAI. His is a K&N and I still have my Airaid right now. Anyone else else ever notice this before or is it just me being biased?

They are the same but wear and tear mileage along with maintainance are huge factors. A simple thing like a worn out timing chain can make a huge difference.

Wow... I thought of searching the same thing but figured other than weight.. They would be the same. Looking at this... The times are quite different. With his being only 149lbs heavier... The times sure are significantly different.
His has nearly 30,000 miles less than mine but maybe as another member stated... It was just not taken care of properly.

That could be the case. Maybe his was beat on, didn't have regular fluid changes, spark plug changes... etc. Who knows. Sounds like you got a "good" 300c though.

Does either of you have a predator tunner installed? also have you tried pulling fuse 11 ,it resets the addaptives (AKA) unlearns your driving habits. try it it might surprise you,Fuse 11 is in the front fuse box all you have to do is pull wait a minute, reinsert and go.

I have ordered the Intune but it's not here yet. I have pulled the fuse 11 before as my friend claims he did. I really didn't notice a difference when I pulled my fuse 11 but he said his made a world of difference.

Hope so but I will say this... The last V8 I owned was a 1985 and when the transmission was cold... It shifted much more firm and aggressive.
With this car... It's the exact opposite. I am not impressed with how this transmission shifts when it's cold outside. It just doesn't feel right. When it warms up.. It seems fine.
I have read that the Diablosport Intune will help that tranny shifting issue.
I just had the transmission serviced so when I do the Intune I feel a little more comfortable.

Don't get hung up on testing numbers as they vary depending on state of tune, mileage, maintenance and ambient conditions.

Pulling fuse 11 doesn't change any performance parameters. It resets the engine adaptives. For it to be a meaningful change, you have to go out and drive the car hard so that those characteristics are "remembered" by the PCM. Problem is, adaptives being what they are, as soon as you drive normally, get stuck in stop and go, etc...they "adapt" to that driving style. The only way to experience a consistent performance gain is by tuning the car with a programmer which sets the adaptives aside in favor of a permanent setting.

You have discovered one of the key complaints about this car. The Diablo tune does help a bit but not nearly as much as I wanted. I bought a Tranzformer to cure the problem completely.
