Well mine lasted 7 years and I changed it this spring. Always had it on a battery tender during the winter, but it finally gave up the ghost. Nothing unusual for me either, but the vent hose is a must. You will need to do the window, power seat and steering recallibrations which is no big deal.

BTW, I also had to change my Jeep's battery this summer after 4 years. I couldn't live with the white case Mopar has as a direct OEM replacement at least in Canada. It was OK for my car as it's hidden in the trunk, but a white battery in a black Jeep was awful. Went to Canadian Tire and their OEM replacement was white also. Turns out both are made by Exide. I went with the Terminator in a black case, the optional battery with more cranking amps etc and a 4 year warranty.

I just got the Autozone dura last platinum.... It's a AGM battery.... My question is that there's like a exhaust tube that was installed on the oem one and this one doesn't have a place to install one. I went back to them and they stated that I purchased a premium battery that doesn't let off the fumes of a standard battery so I have nothing to worry about...... I called three of their locations and they all said the same. I just wanted to check with u guys to make sure..... Thanks for the advise and I pray they are right

I'm wondering the exact same thing.
I have an 2006 AWD C with the original battery.
I'm looking into replacing it soon. But when I looked in the trunk, I didnt see anytype or hose or anything. on the right all I saw was the battery held in place by the battery tie down strap
I did hear that the battery I have is sealed or something so I assume it's recommended I replace it with the same battery (sealed)

In my previous vehicles I'm always used the Sears DieHard batteries with absolutely no problems.
With the exception of my last vehicly (04 Grand Cherokee) I used the Autozone Duralast and that was fine.

Not stupid. I had to look it up.

From ASK.com

Absorbed glass mat

AGM batteries differ from flooded lead acid batteries in that the electrolyte is held in the glass mats, as opposed to freely flooding the plates. Very thin glass fibers are woven into a mat to increase surface area enough to hold sufficient electrolyte on the cells for their lifetime. The fibers that compose the fine glass mat do not absorb nor are affected by the acidic electrolyte. These mats are wrung out 2–5% after being soaked in acids, prior to manufacture completion and sealing.
The plates in an AGM battery may be any shape. Some are flat, others are bent or rolled. AGM batteries, both deep cycle and starting, are built in a rectangular case to BCI battery code specifications.

Hmmmm.
That's interesting

Now if I just go to autozone, Pep Boys or something and give them the details of my car, they should be able to match up the correct battery and know that it's in the trunk right?
Maybe I have to look more in depth while in the trunk, but I dont remember seeing some type of hose or something for ventilation.
Just the tie down strap going around the battery and holding it in place.
Looks like something from the factory and not something someone rigged up...
Where would this hose be and look like?

I run a specialty store and I hear a lot of nonsense these people that work at the big box masses tell customers that is so off target!!!!! Replacing battery.
