Quick question, I've searched the internet and I can't seem to find a site that says the new 300's have a CVT transmission. I'm thinking it does as I don't feel any shift points except sometimes I do feel it downshift.
I've had a couple of vehicles with them - the latest one about 4 years ago. It destroyed itself.
They feel like you are driving with a rubber band for a tranny. The CVT concept has been around forever - but I have yet to experience one that was good - for efficiency; power; and reliability.
On the other hand, the ZF 8 speed is a world cleass unit . . .
Heard the V6 Altimas had a pretty good CVT in it for performance and held up to the abuse. The 4 cylinder ones were the ones that had the most problems. All new Accords come with CVTs and the reviews look good! Actually fun to drive said by Car and Driver.
Yes, I wanted a CVT trans. I assumed it had one because I felt no shifting at all. My friend has an Altima and the CVT trans is amazing!
Now that the car is broke in I still don't feel any up shifts but there are a few down shifts that are hard. Thinking about taking it in and asking wtf.
Something also that weird. I've been trying to drive it slow so after second gear if I give it some gas it struggles, almost like its trying to figure out what to do. One thing is for sure, if you drive it fast all the time it drives better.

I think there was a TSB put out for the early 8 speeds to change shift intervals. You should check to see if you have one of the early cars that's needs to be re-programmed.
