VIN numbers

ok for us non mechanical car nuts what information can I get off the VIN number. Where can I find the build date on my ride. Just for inquiring minds.

If you look inside the drivers door, there's a sticker on the door itself. Below the bar code you'll see six numbers. This is the build date and time your car was built. Mine is 030721, which means it was built March 7th at 9 PM.

Now I am truly confused -- not that it takes a lot to do that. Rambit, below the bar code on my CSRT-8 is a line starting MDH 062423. Does that mean that the car was built on June 24th 2006 at 11 P.M.? If that is what it means, then what does it mean at the top of the label where is says Date of MFG 7-05??

Also, where do I get all those neat statistics such as the 25 of 225 cars built?

You read the label right. Why it has a different mfg. date is a good question.

First of all, it cannot be 2006.

Perhaps the difference is that it was put into the build process in the last week of June, but was actually a completed manufactured item in July.

Calling ResumeSpeed. He maybe able to answer both of your questions definitivly. From the six digits you are correct on the build date though. Why don't you PM RS for answers?

"MDH" = "Month", "Day", "Hour"

"MDH 062423" = June 24 Hour 23

you are probably correct about that build date discrepancy....i'm not sure... but it is a 2006 if it was built in June OR July of 2005. My 2005 300C was built in February 05 and was one of the last '05 models before they switched production to '06 models.....this happened in Feburary.

I think jjs was referring to a typo made by Dante in his first post "built on June 24th 2006" . I'm sure he realizes he has an 06 model SRT8.
