Question What!? No Auto-leveling HID's on U.S. 300c's ??

While searching for information about nivomat autoleveling rear shocks I stumbled across some old posts
about HID lights and autoleveling feature.

Is it really true, there are still no autoleveling HID's on U.S. 300c's?? srt8 and 2006 models as well?

I'm very surprised if this is really true.. does this mean the US cars dont turn the headlight
beam down and up once, when you turn on the lights?

check this small wmv clip here

.

wtf?!?! ive never heard of them as an option on the C's, let alone seen it! that video was soo cool. damnit, makes me want them now.
im suprised this didnt come as an option with the HIDs, my 03 Saab 9.3 Arc has autoleveling HIDs and i really notice a difference with night driving.
anyone have any more info regarding auto leveling?

very strange, but I'm happy to have an additional "gadget" :-) the hid's are great, when I slowly drive down into my garage I can watch how the light beam is adjusted 1 or 2 times per second. very neat.

dunno if its possible to simply swap the US version with the euro hid version

The export cars get everything, auto level lights, lane change fender lights, DRL ... we get treated like a red headed stepchild. Yoy are correct Ab, more to go wrong, these guys can't get a sunroof in without rattling or have the auto seat glide work 100%, what makes one think the auto level lights would even work properly or at all, still a Chrysler not a Lexus.

yes that's sad but we also have to pay much more for the car over here.
If I want a car just to travel from A to B, I would probably buy a toyota

HID Leveling lights illegal in U.S

When I worked for an automotive OEM in Europe I remember distinctly that the self levelling feature is actually illegal in the U.S. Thanks to our buddies at NHTSA. This explains why it is for export only.

No fun stuff for us.

Auto leveling is illegal in the US? Yet they allow cars that lexus sells to have the auto adjusting that turn with you when you turn corners. So... right to left is OK but up and down isn't? LOL. Gotta love government!
