has anyone noticed

If 20" or 22" or some aftermarket exhausts are SO good, then why oh why do we see so many for sale?

I suggest that this LX platform is so well thought out that we may never, ever, see any REALLY good mods. OR, they (DC) have so carefully hidden any mod potential that we will never, ever, see any benefit from the folks who are trying to give us upgrades.

20 or 22 wheels are harsh or shaking. Exhaust is just loud, no gains. Intake is just money, no gains.

If you like it, GREAT! Do it! But, it sure seems that DC has tied us up ... no gains from aftermarket.

For now, I give up! My $.02

One of the reasons I like the 300C so much and bought one is the clean classy look. many (most?) of the mod's I've seen just clutter up the clean lines of the car, in my opinion. And most of the aftermarket wheels I've seen are just to "bling bling" for my taste. So far I am stock except for tinted windows. I'm waiting for enough SRT8 owners to put "bling" wheels on their cars so I can get a set of SRT8 wheels and then I'll be done

I agree about the wheels comment, though I doubt people are selling them for any other reason than wanting to buy better/more expensive 22" replacements.

As far as no good performance mods you need to do your research. Headers and exhaust have been PROVEN to give SUBSTANTIAL HP and torque gains over stock.

Of course it depends on what YOU consider substantial. If you're expecting to bold on 100HP for a couple hundred you're dreaming. If you want 30-50HP or torque for a couple thousand, like I said, it's to be had for sure.

VV ... and others ... I know that headers and cams give performance increases. They also seem to throw CEL's. Ooops, at least the headers seem to. My biggest point was that "other cars" like the Mustang or Camaro get really decent increases with a chip, or a program. ANY car will get help from headers and/or cams. BUT, the "easy" power from the computer just ain't there ..... yet? Intake and exhaust, for us, doesn't really give a power "pop", just sound for the most part. Sooooo, I say DC has us in a corner because the computer/chip/progarm seems un-hackable. The LH WAS that way too.
I think 30-ish HP from a chip/programer is the ticket.
