Dry Gas

While it's been a warm winter here in NYC so far, I don't expect it to stay that way through February. I've been wondering whether it's advisable to add dry gas, when the weather cools off. Has anyone tried this before? Will it have any adverse effects on the HEMI's MDS? Thanks in advance for your comments.

Joe

With "Oxygenated Gas" sold up here there really isnt any point. As much as 10% alcohol in the gas allready, which is basically all dry gas is. The greatest risk to damage would be to the fuel seals, too much alcohol could damage them.

If you use a product of this type, make sure it's Isopropyl (i.e. "Iso-Heet"-comes in a red bottle--or Napa "Thermo-Aid") rather then methyl alcohol (such as regular "Heet" in the yellow bottle). The Isopropyl absorbs water and will not attack O-rings and seals, while the methyl alcohol merely disperses water. Cost is not much more for the good stuff either.
