the camera is set to 76...
so...
just go 75...

I'll remember that, if I get down that way. I have been meaning to visit an old friend of mine in Scottsdale. I haven't seen him since 07/04/02.

The 101

The same geniuses who brought you the red light cameras, then retrofitted them with speed sensors, now bring you:

Photo Radar freewaay style.

They argue that accidents IN the intersections went down (they don't mention how many MORE people are involved in rear enders at the intersections) The intersections with cameras look like landing strips now, from all the people who slam on the brakes in a panic stop for a yellow light, as opposed to risking a ticket, then wham, the guy behind who was also going to blow the yellow gets a new hood ornament.

The photo radar on the freeway started on 1/22/06 (Sunday) on this test section of the 101: From Chapparal to Scottsdale Rd (where I live). Now traffic goes from 80-85 to SCRREEEEEECH 60-65 when you approach the six spots with cameras. Real f*%#ing safe!

Even the highway patrol advised against it!
City of Scottsdale just has their hand out for some dough: Nothing to do with public safety.

The real fun starts when the f*%#ing flash goes off! Every moron around you loses their mind and hits the brakes, again real f*%#ing safe!

My tax dollars hard at work!

BTW: CButler, staying off the 101 isn't an option. Unlike near your house where you have 57 freeways to choose from, "take the 15 or the 5 or the 57 or the..." We have ONE loop freeway that connects North Scottsdale to the rest of the world.

Dan (aka Mr. 90 to 65 to 90 to 65 to...)

Sensors in the pavement. Cameras with flashes all around. Great Idea: Blind the guy speeding as all around him panic brake simultaneously! Who the hell needs Disneyland? I've got a thrill ride with free admission!

PHOTOBLOCKER!

That's what's next!

I think I'll buy stock in the company (if they're publicly traded) or try and buy the f*%#ing company if they're privately held!

BTW: Register your daily driver in your wifes name and vise versa. When (not if) a photo radar ticket shows up in your mailbox the correct answer is: That's not me, and I don't know who it is!

they did mention that the flashes were being an issue and might have to turn them off at night from the several accidents already caused...

I knew you were going to like this one Dan...
